About this Collection

The Green Apple Day of Service, which takes place annually, gives parents, teachers, students, companies and local organizations the opportunity to transform all schools into healthy, safe and productive learning environments through local service projects.

The Green Apple Day of Service is hosted every September by the the Center for Green Schools at the US Green Building Council. The Center for Green Schools was established to drive the transformation of all schools into sustainable and healthy places to live, learn, work and play. We believe that everyone, from the kindergartner entering the classroom to the Ph.D. student performing research in a lab, should have the ability to learn in green buildings.
